Crypto: Follow these personal finance experts
There is a lot of bad advice about crypto.
Five meme accounts are available to every crypto investor who is even-keeled. Some ask you to invest all your money in Bitcoin; others try to convince their followers that altcoins are the crypto of tomorrow.
Experts say the reality is more complex. “Optimal investing can be very boring and simple,” said Jeremy Schneider, creator of Personal Finance Club. “Today’s crypto craze and meme stock are in the headlines. Young investors are new to investing need to learn how to navigate this.
Experts and financial advisors who have discussed crypto investing caution people from allocating too much of their portfolio to cryptocurrency or not understanding the risk. It would help if you did not let cryptocurrency investment stop you from saving money, paying off high-interest credit cards, and planning retirement.
For a better perspective on crypto, here are some thoughts from our favourite personal finance influencers:

Schneider has been around Bitcoin since its inception.
“I can still remember the day I discovered Bitcoin in 2010. After considering buying Bitcoin, Schneider says that I thought for about 30 minutes and then decided it was impossible to reach $1. Bitcoin soared past $1 to reach a peak of over $60,000 in April 2021. It currently stands at just $40,000 after a turbulent May.
Schneider cautions you against letting FOMO (investing FOMO) pressure you into making decisions. Schneider reminds his followers to follow two simple rules to build wealth: Live below your means, and invest early and often (preferably index funds).
